Athenaeum of Hermes-Thoth Online Library

Welcome to the Athenaeum of Hermes-Thoth online library. On the following pages you will be able to find a wide selection of Platonic, Neoplatonic, and Hermetic writings, as well as several books on the traditional Hellenic religion.

Because of their age, many of these works are no longer under copyright, but the English translations may still be under copyright. However, this online library only features those English translations, and other related works, which have now fallen out of copyright and are thus in the public domain. It is therefore possible to make these works freely available for your use.

Works of Plato

The works of Plato featured in this library include the twelve books Iamblichus recommended for Platonic studies, along with the Republic (which, while not included in Iamblichus' syllabus, is nevertheless important).

Also in this section will be found works by the Emperor Julian, and the Life of Apollonius of Tyana, which, although not strictly philosophy, is in regards to the life of an eminent philosopher.
